Katy Ring, Ed.D., begins her role as IESBVI regional director for western Iowa July 1. She also oversees IESBVI 4PLUS, the transition program based in Council Bluffs.
Ring will mark 12 years with IESBVI this fall. She became the Iowa Deafblind Consultant and Deafblind Project Coordinator in 2019. Prior to working with the Deafblind Project, she was a teacher of students with visual impairments for IESBVI, a position she held for seven years.
Ring earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Drake University in Des Moines and holds a master’s degree in Visual Impairments from the University of Northern Iowa.
“I am beyond grateful and excited that I get to continue to work with whom I believe are some of the most dedicated educators in the state of Iowa. Go Rams!” she said.
