After needing to cancel in-person summer camps due to COVID-19 in the summer of 2020, IESBVI was excited to return to hosting summer camps in 2021. Based on participation rates, and the attitudes of campers, our students were eager to be back at camps as well.
IESBVI hosted 10 summer camps in various locations of the state, including 3 residential programs and 7 day programs. A total of 82 students attended at least one summer program this summer. Camp offerings included camps focusing on recreation, athletics, nature and transition life skills. In addition to the in-person camps, at-home activity kits were available and sent to students’ homes upon request. Twelve at-home activity kits were sent out this summer and kept students engaged while on summer break.
