One hundred and twenty-five educators from across the state of Iowa attended Summer Institute 2021. The Institute’s design provided 35 sessions presented by IESBVI consultants, staff and outside presenters with sessions ranging from 90 minute to three hours. These sessions helped prepare paraeducators, general education and special education teachers from Local Education Agencies (LEA) as well as Area Education Agencies (AEA) staff to support students with visual impairments. Sessions addressed literacy, math, STEM, assistive technology, students with additional disabilities including blindness, transition (Part B to C and age 14) and general sessions about working with students having visual impairments.
